Heatherette tights.

Hello ladies. Did any one see the Heatherette fashion show on TV or in person the other day? I'm talking about the Spring 2005 show. In the show they had lots of tights (my favorite thing for fall) with large silver stars and other shapes on them. How would one go about making a pair of these. Are there paints that work on hoseiry fabric that will not chip or bleed or all around look bad? You ladies tend to know alot about these type of things. I hope you ladies can help.
