tampon art.
Sep. 14th, 2004 01:55 amHi. I read a lot, sometimes reply, haven't posted too much. I do a lot of fun crafty stuff, mostly knit (that's more of an obsession, really - you can check out the knitting blog if you're interested in that sort of thing), sew (currently I'm costume designing a show - 11 costumes with a $100 budget!), quilt, and other creative but not necessarily artistic things.
But this is what I did today.

In the Commons (cafeteria) today, they had special "college trial packs." Inside the female ones were Tampax Pearl tampons - which I like, but are expensive, so I don't often use. But they were scented. Who uses scented tampons? But they were pretty (blue!), and scented, so I went with my friends to the Arts Center, took some wire, and made it into a mobile/air-freshener. I used the push-y part of the applicator to cover the wire, and pushed the tampons out of the applicators a little to add color and interest. It now lives on my ceiling, near my desk, and smells very pretty.
I used 11 tampons (8 regular and 3 super), and some wire.
It was interesting walking across campus, and hanging out at the snackbar with it - people were pointing and staring, and I felt it was my obligation to inform them about it (and make them smell it).
