Handsewing a ruffle
Sep. 28th, 2004 12:34 pmSo, I've been handsewing everything I'm making lately because my sewing machine broke. I'm making this beautiful skirt, and I'd like to add a bit of a ruffle at the bottom. Doing this w/ a machine would be easy peasy, but I don't know how to do it so that it would work out by only using one thread when hand sewing.
Does anybody have previous knowledge of doing this?
I thought that wide, somewhat weak stitches might work, but then I realized it probably wouldn't and that the ruffle would fall right off, and look ugly if it didn't.
Thanks for any help!
