I need guidance, my crafty friends - have any of you worked with fake leaves before? I want to cover a dress in fake autumn leaves (you know, the faux-silk ones you buy at Michael's or A.C. Moore), but am concerned about getting them to lie flat and smooth. Sewing will take forever and will only tack them down at the corners; hot glue will be lumpy and heavy; textile glue seems like the best choice but I don't know whether it's strong enough to keep the leaves hanging on. Also, I want the skirt to still be full and not completely droopy.
Any tips/ideas/suggestions/experiences with glues? Thanks!
