Materials:
Size 15 knitting needles
Size 10 or 10 ½ knitting needles
1 skein Medium Worsted yarn ( I used Red Heart super saver in Warm Brown color; also, I bought 2 skeins because the yarn is doubled up when knitting and figured you can always use the leftovers for the many accessories these will need)
1 skein Fun Fur (or whichever eyelash/furry yarn you want)
yarn needle

Okay, so I have no gauge to give you…but, the top of my calve is 12” around and I made the top of the legwarmers large enough to also fit over my pants (and then some…)

Using size 15 knitting needles

Cast on 30 st (with double yarn for extra warmth).
Work even with Stockinette stitch for 30 rows or 8 ½” – 9”
Decrease 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 28 st
Work even with stockinette stitch for 15 rows or until the total length is 12 ½ “ - 13”

Next steps are for the flare-out to fit over your shoes

Increase 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 30 st
Work even 3 rows
Increase 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 32 st
Work even 2 rows
Increase 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 34 st
Work even 3 rows
Increase 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 36 st
Work even 1 row
Increase 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 38 st
Work even 4 rows
Increase 1 stitch on each end for 1 row – 40 st
Work even 4 rows
(or until total length of legwarmer is 20” + - )

Cast off

Edging

This part of the instructions is very ghetto because I really didn’t pay attention and just knitted along to whatever I thought looked good.

Using the size 10 or 10 ½ knitting needles

Along the top edge, pick up 30 st.
Knit first row, increasing to as many stitches as needed to obtain desired “flurriness”
Knit 3 more rows (or, again, until you obtain the desired amount of furriness)
Cast off

On the sides, pick up stitches. However many are there  yes, I realize I’m being non-specific but I have no idea how many I actually picked up. Repeat instructions for top edge.

With the legwarmer inside-out, weave the edges together making sure that as much of the eyelash yarn is facing out as possible (some will get caught on the inside). Leave last 4 inches on the bottom un-joined to fall nicely over shoes.

I made mine with ‘laces’. I took really long strands of my yarn and braided them. Then I strung it around by pulling it through some stitches on the front and the back. I tie them with a bow on the top. You could use pretty much anything as lacing though, if you want, or none at all.

That’s it. I have never written instructions before so I sure that these are terrible to follow. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And, if anyone ends up making these I will need pics!
