my thread keeps breaking.

Okay, I didn't see this in the memories- but if its there just point me in the direction.

I finally got my sewing machine out the other night and threaded it and what not. I resized one shirt, then when I went to do another one, the thread started breaking. so last night I sat down and did some trouble shooting, and I did everything the book said. I changed the needle, rethreaded the bobbin, messed with the tension, I even changed thread b/c most of my thread is really old and I thought that might be a factor, but it's still breaking.

what is going on?
