another question about screen printing

craftgrrlso i had to borrow some money to buy some mod podge (really, that's how broke i am) and i started making my screen. i have been applying it rather thick and when i turned it over, it was dripping through a bunch on the back. is it normal for this to happen? am i applying it too thick? if it's normal, won't it kind of mess up where the ink goes because there is no smooth spot?
