Dec. 9th, 2004 12:23 amHowdy folks - love this community...
Anyway, I'm a fairly competent knitter of very pretty squares, and I'm making a dishcloth to go in my mother's Christmas stocking (sounds bland, I know, but there's a story there)...I'm designing my own pattern because I want it to be something specific and meaningful, about as meaningful as a dishcloth should ever be. My problem is, my mother only really uses white dishcloths because they can be easily bleached. So I need a way of creating a picture AND readable words on a big white cotton square. Is just knit/purl going to cut it, or will I have to get tricky?
