Dec. 1st, 2002 10:32 pmoh zeus, i love this place. i've been reading this lj for a while now, but i've just recently been learning craftiness, heavy duty. i just started sewing; one day i decided i needed to learn and i had dad take me to walmart, got a cheap dress pattern and my aunt helped me make it on her sewing machine. its not quite finished but i've done pretty much all of it by myself and am quite proud. (black and white polka dotted jumper - woo!) mom randomly bought us a sewing machine last week, so i'll be making loooots more soon.
also, a friend just taught me to crochet, but i realllly would like to learn knitting. however, i have no one to teach me here. i'm searching around the net to find a really great tutorial, hopefully i'll find one.
okay, and now a question: since sewing patterns are generally wayyyy more expensive than i thought they would be, does anyone have any instructions for sewn skirts that don't require a pattern? maybe an a-line, or i would really like to learn how to make a tulip skirt (the kind that gets wider at the bottom, like, well, a tulip.)
anyway, help would be appreciated. :) thankkks.
