So, Ive finally begun knitting my checkered scarf (for those of you who have seen my multiple posts asking questions on how to do it and such). Im working it on circular needles and I think im doing it fair isle style, cuz im not doing intarsia. I dont carry the colors together through the whole thing, i just twist them together when i change colors. And I was wondering if theres a way to connect the two colors together vertically? because right now if you pull on the checkers where they meet, you can see the thread behind them and that theyre not connected.

I only have about six inches done so far so I figured Id ask now instead of when I have a lot more done. The yarn im using is kinda stretchy. If the non-connected-ness is ok, then I dont need help but if its gonna be a problem later on Id appreciate some tips
