i've been kicking around the idea lately of trying my hand at quilting. i've never done it before, but for some reason i just want to learn.
the fates obviously think i should too, because in one of my classes (i'm studying for a degree in art education), we drew art techniques that each of us needs to present to the class and teach them how to do said technique. well i pulled quilt making!
so, while i'm totally into the idea of this project, i'm at a bit of a loss as i have to teach *myself* how to quilt before i can teach the rest of the class! it's just a basic demo, plus some hands-on stuff for people to try, and i have to have it ready to present on Jan 17th... so my question is this:

do any of you (expert and novice quilters alike) have any good, basic web sites for beginning quilters? i'm working through a google search, but the steps/supplies/methods seem to vary pretty widely and it's a bit overwhelming. any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
