t shirt transfers?

hi all..

ok so here's the deal:
my best friend and i are making blanket/quilt type things for our friends. we found some cool fabric but were also gonna use iron on transfers to make some picture collages for other patches on the blankets/quilts.

we used a generic brand and it didnt come out so well.
does anyone have any suggestions?
what brand of iron on transfer paper have YOU had good luck with. any info would be appreciated :)
