Hello! New & stuff.
Feb. 14th, 2005 01:11 amHey everyone. I've been lurking for a little while and have been amazed by everybody's creativity and talent, as well as learning a bunch of stuff. So I thought I'd contribute instead of silently sucking out all of your creative juices.
Well, it's every cynic's favourite holiday. And that can only mean one thing: sappy cards for significant others. Only my dear boy-shape and I don't really do that whole lovey dovey thing well. Mainly we say mean things to each other and laugh about it. But I really wanted to make something that retained the sugary sentiment of Valentine's Day, at least aesthetically. Cue this card.
FRONT

Text at the top reads: "You make me feel like Bambi in the Springtime."
Text at the bottom reads: "Thank you for not giving me herpes."
INSIDE

Top: Random pictures of us neckin' and stuff.
Bottom: Text says: "Happy Valentine's Day, Baby. ♥ I guess a lot of boyfriends suck and sometimes give you STDs, but thanks for doing neither. You da best!"
ENVELOPE

Hand made, with love hearts that alternately read "Ozlem loves Timothy" and "Timothy loves Ozlem". (Uh, those are our names, by-the-by.)
If anyone's wondering, I just printed off the text and pictures on to white card stock, stuck it down on some black card stock and added pink and white paper hearts where I wanted to. Pretty easy and, most importantly, made with cheap things I didn't have to buy.
Oh, and I've also been hand making some little notebooks lately. Here's a couple I made my little sister for school.

The colour is way off on that, for some reason. I tried fixing it up to no avail. The left book is a gold foil colour with a light blue and gold foil print detail in the corners. The one on the right is a little more pastel pink.
FIRST PAGE

Silly little title page.
Oh, and sorry the picture quality sucks. Help me in sending bad vibes to the hooligan who stole my real camera!
That concludes my presentation for the evening. Hope all you ladies are treated like princesses this V-Day :D
