Feb. 16th, 2005 07:20 pmMy first finished hand-spun yarns done with my Louet top whorl drop spindle. :o)
This is the first yarn I spun - ever. My first single. *tear* It wasn't perfectly even but I was happy with the outcome.

Requisite spindle shot. This is the second single spun, done very thinly. Much more controlled width-wise than the first but still imperfect but that's okay.

I plied the white single that I spun first with some hot pink fun fur. These pictures don't really do it justice. It's just a very bright, happy, pretty skein. I am very happy with the outcome. This was my first attempt at plying.

I plied the thin purple single that I spun with a thick green-blue single. This one didn't come out quite as hoped. I should have spun the purple into it tighter... so there was more purple closer together but it's not too bad. I think that it looked better before I set the twist... for some reason. I am okay with this one. It's pretty colors anyway. This was my first shot at plying two singles that I had spun.

And this is what I get to play with next. It's gorgeous. I love the colors and it's quite soft (8 oz. merino). I can't wait to play.
