Long time lurker, first time... oh, you know the deal. Anyway, here's a shortened skirt, which isn't all that exciting but it's one of my first projects ever so I'm very proud of it.

I bought this skirt last week without trying it on, and it looked sort of weird because it was so long.

But I loved the material and I really wanted to keep the skirt. So I rolled it up to see how it would look, and I decided to shorten it.

First I cut the top part that I didn't need off. It has an elastic, so I had to take it out and resew it on. My mom helped me a little (okay, a LOT) with sewing the elastic, since I was afraid I'd screw it up. Then I added the little flower, which I stole from a fake wreath at Pizza Hut a few years ago in a fit of silliness with my best friend. It's safety pinned on so I can take it off when I wash it. Here's the result:

Swishy skirt!

Ignore the perspectives of the pictures, they make it look like my couch is tiny and I'm a giant for some reason. Creepy.

And there ya go. I'll be sure to post my next project when I do something more interesting :)

Edit: I have no idea why this stuff isn't showing up... I swear I did the html right... anyone know what's wrong?

Edit #2: Oops... thanks for the help!
