Mar. 1st, 2005 06:35 pmFirst time poster... didn't want to say anything until I finished something :D
First:
I had seen this somewhere on the internet and decided to give it a try. I asked everybody for plastic bags, which kinda gathered curiosity among them. They all took guesses at what I was making... two of which were "a parachute" and "She's going to go suffocate children." T_T
Anyways It took a lot, and I had planned for it to be bigger, but I realized that I really didn't want to loop more plastic bags together and I also realized that I have way too many big bags/purses/whaaaatever.
Bags are actually reeeally hard to work with! They were so tough, I ended up with a nicely-sized lump on my middle finger
I lined the inside with a pretty floral fabric I found in my attic (which is a GOLDMINE of old, pretty stuff) and then added some hemp to the edges.

Woo!
I used it for the first time today, which was reeeeeeally excitingomg.
I also made a kanzashi flower (uh-ohhh) out of newspaper and modge-podged it to complete the whole recycled look, but I haven't stuck it on there yet.
Second:

It's a Nintendo DS cozy!
I needed something smaller to keep it in, so I whipped this up in a day. I used Sugar'n Cream, and paired it up with thread to give it a little more prettiness. I started off with yellow, green, and blue, and then the yellow ran out, and then green... Yeah.
And yes I saw the Kanzashi flowers here and made a few of my own. This one, though, is my favorite:
I gave it to a friend :D She loves it.
Ever since I started getting ideas from here, not a day has passed when I haven't worked on something! I'm actually working on a skirt right now... later ;D
