[aol tin idea / marble magnets]
Dec. 13th, 2002 02:58 pmI just had a neat idea that I'm going to do for my mom for Christmas. I bought a sheet of nice stamps - in this case, the bat stamps. I spray painted an AOL tin black, and I am going to line it with black felt and decopauge a bat photo onto the cover of the tin, and include the coordinating bat stamps inside. USPS has such pretty stamps these days, you can find something to interest almost anyone. You could do the ASPCA puppies and kittens, the romantic hearts, or even a patriotic theme. I thought it would be a more "finished" gift than just the empty tin.
Also, several people have asked where to get tiny pictures for the marble magnets. AC Moore (and other places, I'm sure) sells tiny little books of Sanrio (Hello Kitty) stickers. I bought a few books and stuck them onto plain copier paper and then punched them out with my 1/2" punch - they are a great size to use! I'm sure you could do the same thing with other small stickers. :)
