Jean Skirt

Question:

I have turned a pair of blue jeans into a skirt, but when I sewed the back, it pooches out a little. If I rip the seam out further up and sew it further over, it's going to make the skirt tighter.



I am a newbie with this sewing stuff so any suggestions would be helpful.
