Resin crafting

Hi everyone :)

I have a question about Resin. I've purchased all the materials I need to start off with, and I think I understand the basic techniques involved... I would love to make pendants that I can drill holes into to make earrings and necklaces.

My question is, what different ways are there to personalize resin pendants? I've seen some with small photos in them, or small objects. I'm stumped about how to start off! And i don't know how I'll get the hole in the pendant afterwards... I'd appreciate any hints or advice from people who've worked with resin before!!
