This project has been a long time coming ~

I am proud to present to you my first peyote necklace!!

I actually made a full length peyote necklace quite a while ago, but because I made such a wide tube it would not curve correctly, so I finally scrapped it & salvaged the beads (I was working 28 beads around while most people use 14-16 beads at the most). A lot of girls work around hemp, but it turns out so lumpy, so when I decided to combine this with a plastic tube base for the beads, it finally came together!

Here is the 'pendant', which is actually a river rock covered in peyote stitch. I had wanted to try this a long time ago, but didn't realize I had some river rocks until a few weeks ago when I was working on something else.

Here is the tutorial for the rock, but the directions for the flat round peyote did not work for my Czech beads. I used this tutorial for that.

And, here is the clasp for the necklace. It is my first handmade clasp & I think it turned out so well!! (Do you think I should hammer this? & with what kind of hammer?)

Handmade Paper
~ And finally, in the background of this pictures is my first batch of handmade paper. It was so fun to make & much easier to do than I thought it would be. I used recycled paper, and added a sheet of blue & green construction paper to tint it. I blended the blue less so that it would leave more 'confetti'. And glitter of course. Later I added some day lily petals chopped up & some rosemary from the spice cabinet (turned brown/black instead of green, but still interesting look to it). My camera died before I took the pics of those sheets, but I will be posting some more pictures of my future batches that turn out well ~ A big thanks to
