Mom's Cane
Aug. 14th, 2005 03:34 amThis is my first post.

Mom had an old cane I bought back in the day (about 10 years ago) at good ol' K&B. The finish was coming off so she gave it to me to redo. So I used a power sander to take off most of the finish. It wouldn't fit in the hook (believe me I tried) so I had to hand sand that. Next I drew all over it in marker and wood burned the lines. After that I cleaned it with alcohol (To take off the marker and to allow the wood to "open" so it would suck up the paint really well). Then I painted it.
Next after the paint has dried over a few days I will touch up some things with the wood burner and then apply a clear varnish to it. Then it will get it's new cane tip and be good to go.
Hopefully soon I can get mom walking again so she can use it.
