I haven't knit for awhile. I made a scarf in June, but it's been a long, dry season in my yarn basket since March or so. I decided I'd knit a hat--from memory. It ended up a really tight weave and a little bigger than I would normally wear, but I'm liking it. I also decided that I'd teach myself how to crochet and made some star flowers for details. No patterns were injured in the making of this hat, because I was too lazy to look for them and too stubborn to knit any way but my own.


This is me working on the hat/avoiding my boyfriend's camera.


It's sturdy enough to stand up on its own.


Yes, those ugly stars/flowers were completely necessary.
