Graduation Gift....

craftgrrlI know for some people in here graduation must be coming up in the spring so i thought I'd share what I did for my then friends as a gift (because I was poor and they weren't good enough of friends to me for me to spend lots of money).
Walden books had these small plain cloth covered (or something) journals in all different colors, like grey and black and green etc. They were on sale for pretty cheap so I bought up about 5 of them, each in a different color. Then i went to JoAnns and bought some of those cute iron-on thingys, like a cute kitten with a butterfly, a faery, a turtle, some stars and such (the bigger ones were more expensive).
I went home and ironed on the cute embroidered decals thingys to the front of each journal... putting the single decorative ones in a corner or on the center or top, and the ones that i did with stars and cute squiggly thingys i scattered those about to make cute designs....
I wrote this little letter to each of them on the inside telling them that i was going to miss them and for them to use the journal to write about their life and later when we get back together we can all share some of our entries.... At the time I thought this was a great idea because I love to write in journals and it'd help us catch up on things.... but no.
Needless to say, it didnt' work and I no longer speak to any of the friends that I had in school (they were't very good friends anyway but still)... but this is a great idea if you have great friends that you know will use it... its not all that crafty but its still a cute idea :-)
