Sep. 16th, 2005 07:06 pmI have debated about posting these because I feel a little inadequate compared to the rest of you in many respects! But I was very excited about both of these things, so here you go. :)
Cell phone carrier thingy my mom and i designed... she did the majority of the sewing. :)

It's lined with this awesome fabric that looks like patchwork, kind of. I have a skirt made out of it; this piece was cut from the leftovers. You can't see it very well, but it goes nicely and is silky, so it helps the phone pop out easier.

In action.... I'm planning to add some button details on the front, but I've been insanely busy.

And these are some beanbags I made to use with my "kids" (I'm a teacher and therapist for deaf kids). Each one represents one of the Ling sounds, which are sounds we use to make sure their hearing aids/cochlear implants are working right... long story. Anyhow, they're not that exciting, but they were fun to make. :) Both sides are made of a heavy canvas-type material... off white on one side and steel gray on the other. A friend and I painted on the designs.

Showing the back of one....

As a side note, does anyone have any advice for making sure the fabric paint stays stuck on? I've had a couple places where it has tried to come off. I think I've fixed it all by pressing it in the grooves a little better, but seeing as these may have significant wear and tear....
Thanks! Hopefully I will have some better things to post soon. :)
