Dec. 30th, 2002 10:51 pmHey, girls!
I've got a dilemma and I'm hoping someone will have a solution for me.
I've got this beautiful transparent blue glass bowl. It's sort of wavy, and on its underside, it's got a beautiful silver foil technique done on it that makes it looks really cool from the top. The only problem is, the foil started to scratch off, and now about half of the bowl has foil on it. I'm trying to get ALL of the foil off, so that at least I can use it as just a bowl.
Has anyone ever used any kind of solvent to remove foil? It almost seems to have a plasticized texture to it, so I'm not sure if it's legit foil or not. I've tried rubbing alcohol, paint thinner, and turpentine, and nothing works. Scratching it off isn't an option, either, because the bowl is quite bumpy near the bottom and it doesn't flake off like at the top.
Help!
Sara :)
