How do I poke holes into "bicycle" brand dice

I'd like to string them, my powerdrill is shot tho:( I'm making something for my bf for when he leaves and I would like to attach it to them. I have tried heating a nail, hammer a nail through it (it cracked apart) ... any one can help out?? Thanks in advance!
