Need help! (sorry, post is text only.)
Nov. 29th, 2005 04:36 pmHi y'all.
I have a problem, and I'm hoping someone here has an idea that could potentially work.
So, I do the whole jewelry making thing and awhile back a friend of mine brought me a sand dollar that's probably close to the size of a nickel. It has a hole straight through the middle (obviously created by a bird, as it's jagged) and a chip at the top, but otherwise, is in good shape. He brought it home from the beach because he thought it should be made into a necklace, and while I agree wholeheartedly, I don't want to just attach it to some wire or thread and call it a day...I'm too worried it'll shatter, as it's fairly fragile.
Is there anything that you would suggest I fill it with in order to reinforce it so it won't shatter at the first second it gets? It's in such good shape and I've got some great beads that I'd LOVE to string it with, but I need to know it'll last first.
Thanks in advance, and I promise to post some lampwork pics later to make up for a text only post. :)
