This is a gift for one of my friends (who doesn't read LJ!). Her and I used to go to abandoned houses together to shoot photos.

Notice the small hole in the front of the box? If you look through it, you see:

(The small photo in the back now has a frame; unfortunately I was unable to get any decent shots through the peephole after I had completed it.)

and if you look at the top of the box:

and opened up:

(I took apart a broken camera lens and used the glass for the peephole, and the hole in the top.)

Here's the finished portrait in the back (it is a small photo of my friend):

The most difficult thing about making this was carving out the place for the lens in the front. It was otherwise much easier to make than it looks.

It's just a cigar box, with some bits of plaster and paint I ripped off the walls of an abandoned house.

I have a question for everyone, though...

None of the furnishings are glued down. I can't decide if I should glue them or not. I mean, it is an abandoned house, I kind of like the idea of everything being sort of random, but there is definately a "best" placement for some of the items. My question, then, is what do you all think? Glue or no?

*EDIT*
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!
Wow. I really, really, appreciate it. I will keep all of your suggestions in mind. :D
