A CRAFTING TRAVESTY!
Dec. 22nd, 2005 07:58 pmI spent the last several hours working on making the LARGEST possible origami star (the little puffy ones- 100 = one wish, or something). I've been gradually making them bigger and bigger, and I started to stuff little gifts inside. Well, I wanted to see just how big I could make these, and how big of a gift I could put inside. So I cut out a 9.5 foot by 9 inch strip of postal paper and got to folding. It came out a great shape, after a lot of folding and refolding. I was thrilled! But it was... brown. So I was going to cover every trace of brown with wrapping paper scraps in the shape of stars.
I was starting to get sore from just sitting, cutting, and pasting. So I got up to get some coffee. My back is turned for about 30 seconds and tragedy strikes:

Yep. Not only did she smash and mutitlate, she actually started ripping off as many stars as she could.
You know, I'd be furious if she wasn't so adorable. Look at that guilty face! I can't help but forgive her. Afterall, she LOVES opening presents (Christmas morning, man does that paper fly.)- she just got a little ahead of herself.
I thought you fellow crafters with dogs/cats for soul mates would appreciate this.
(As I type this, my cat is ripping all the ornaments off the tree. Whatcha gonna do?)
