Holiday Crafts!
Dec. 26th, 2005 04:22 pmNow that Christmas is over, I can post the things I made for gifts without worry that one of the recipients will see...lol
All of these were hand sewn (needle and thread - no machine) and no patterns (I can't read them anyways) - I just made them up, and started cutting and sewing. Good thing they turned out! lol ;)
This was a little pin for a secret Holiday Gift Swap. That's a 1" pin sewn on the back, so you can kind of tell how big it is. I think it was a couple inches high, but I didn't measure it before I sent it. It's made of satin-y pale pink, and black low-pile fur.

This was for one of my best friend's birthday this month. She loves sharks, so I made her this hammerhead guy. He's about a foot long and made of super goft grey fleece.
This was for the same friend's Christmas gift. She also loves bunnies. The bunny's made of white and pink fleece. It's about 15" tall and has a white furry tail!
This was for my boyfriend. He has a lot of little monsters that I make and sometimes they go to work with him. I made a chair for them to sit in at his desk! :D It's made of 4 3" square balsa pieces, 4 round dowel ends painted black, fabric (fuzzy black!), batting, and hot glue. It took a couple of tries to get the arm pieces right, but turned out great in the end. When I got the sides, back, and bottom done, I sewed them together and then glued the bottom pieces on. :D
I made this dragon (and baby one) for my friend who collects dragons. He's rather picky, so I had to make something special. It's a couple feet long, and completely hand sewn (needle and thread!) except for the wings, which my boyfriend made. He also made the sculpy horns too, and then drilled holes in them so we could stitch them to the head. I think it turned out great! :D It took me about 3 days (20+ hours altogether), but totally worth it!
And my friend with his new dragon! He loved it! :D
