Naruto hoodie, Gundam bag, necklace
Jan. 7th, 2006 12:45 pmWhoo! Post with pictures!

I made this hoodie for my boyfriend's little brother, who is a huge Naruto fan. I got an orange sweatshirt at Wal-mart. It had a logo embroidered on, so I cut it off. I took the biggest image I could find of the symbol and used PSP to trace over it and smooth out the edges. Part of the symbol was behind a character, so I kinda fudged one of the edges. I used freezer paper and acrylic paint + textile medium to stencil it on the sweatshirt. I had to do about 5 layers to get the blue to look right. In this picture it's still wet from where I washed it.

This is a beaded necklace I made for a friend. Pretty self explanatory. :) Seed beeds and silver spacers on memory wire plus a porcelain bead with a butterfly on it.

This bag nearly killed me! I posted asking advice about it awhile back. My boyfriend saw the Fruits Basket bag I got at a con and fell in love with it. He really wanted a bag with the Zeon symbol from Gundam on it, but they don't make one. I found a bag on ebags.com that was made similar to the one I have. I then used freezer paper and acrylic paint + textile medium (mixed 1:1 instead of 2:1) to stencil it on. The only problem was that since the bag is textured, the stencil came up around the edges after the second coat! Paint got everywhere, and you could still see through the white paint! ARGH. After freaking out over ruining a nearly $40 bag a week before Christmas, I decided to use Sharpie on the messed up parts. Suprisingly, it worked perfectly! I took a fine brush and painted two more coats on the design. My boyfriend loves it!
