bath puffs/scrubs

I used this pattern and Lily Sugar'n Cream yarn to make this bath puff. :)



would i need to throw out handmade bath puffs after some time has passed (as with regular bath scrubs), or could i stick them in the washing machine (delicate/handwash cycle) to re-use? the yarn i'd be using would most likely be cotton or nylon.
