more crochet projects!
Jan. 30th, 2006 02:44 amI went through my yarn bin and found projects on needles and hooks that needed finishing, so I've been trying to finish them.
The first thing is a fucshia pouch trimmed in black. 100% cotton (Lion Brand) and basically a knit rectangle on size 8s. I was practicing ribbing and bound it off and blocked it and decided it could be sewn up into something! I stitched the sides in black, then went around with an H hook and single-crocheted to make it neat and eye-catching. Sewed on the snap pieces twice (yarn was too thick so I split the 4-ply into 2-ply) but finally got it right. :D

The second thing is an afghan I started last summer in Jiffy Thick'N'Quick (colorway: Rocky Mountains) and I'm ALMOST DONE with it. Made up a simple chain-1 space pattern and used a P hook. 48" wide by 53" tall (going for 60"). INCREDIBLY soft and warm, and that yarn works up fast (a good thing, since it's my first blanket and I'm an impatient soul). :)

That's all, folks!
