i looked through the memories section as much as i could, but couldn't seem to find the specific help i was looking for... lj-cut to protect craft boys who may not want to know all these details...


since i am once again on the rag, i thought i would take this 'i want to stay in my sweatpants all day' mood and craft with it, specifically to do some research and creation so i could finally STOP using regular pads and tampons (environmental concerns, chemical toxins, etc.) it seems of all the alternative menstrual products, the ones i feel most comfortable with are the homemade cotton or flannel pads, like these: http://urban-armor.org/urban-armor/products/index.html

Then, i thought, wouldn't ot be great if you could just have special period panties! They would be like your best, most comfy undies (instead of, as mine currently are, the old ratty ones you never wear except when it's period time) but with a homemade pad built in! I'm thinking something along the lines of the pads above, with the snaps, so you can change the pad without changing the undies throughout a day, combined with this type of underwear: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?rcid=womens&scid=cat120151&sscid=cat120155&navroot=womens&productId=6445_1349 (simply because they are my favorite fit).

where do i need help? patterns! no one makes patterns for the power pads (as far as i can find) because they want you to buy theirs, and i'm fairly sure a boy brief underwear pattern must exist, but i couldn't find it.

so do any of you have/know where i could find underwear patterns and/or homemade pad patterns, or any other crafty menstrual thing that might make this time of the month a bit more pleasant? thanks girls!
