Lord of the Rings Cloak Pin
Jan. 13th, 2003 01:20 pmMy Mom is a major Lord of the Rings fan, and her birthday's coming up. I looked all over for a reproduction of the pin worn by the Fellowship of the Ring members, but the cheapest I could find is $60 -- out of my price range for now. So I set about trying to create one, myself. I finally got two versions made: this one made of pressed tin

and another (I'll post a pic later) of Sculpey. Actually, the Sculpey version turned out better, except that the vines and curly-cues are a little too fragile to be made out of Sculpey. (Any suggestions on something I can use for that that will bake in with the sculpey OK?)
And, no, I'm not selling these, so don't anyone yell at me for copyright. I am only making this for my Mom, and possibly one for a friend whose birthday I just missed (oops!) I wouldn't think of selling these, although I am tempted to make some neato floral and leafy things inspired by this sort of design to sell at our school craft fair.
