My first foray into screenprinting.
Mar. 28th, 2006 12:02 amEveryone's been posting theirs lately, so I figured I'd join in. I made this on Saturday.
This was the best tutorial ever.
The boy told me a few weeks ago that he was trying to build up a collection of baseball shirts, so after that comment, I clearly couldn't get him one of the 2-for-$5-on-sale-at-Michael's-this-weekend tees that I would have gotten otherwise, and had to make a special trip for the costliest part of his present. I was really nervous since it was from American Apparel that I'd screw up this (relatively) expensive shirt with my first screening attempt, but after screwing it up twice on an old tee from work, I said eff it and went for it, and it came out fine. :)
front!

In case you may have missed the memo, I'm in love with Courier New.
back!

It wasn't intentional, but the radio looks a little bit stoned.
He's a DJ (for an NPR affiliate - how sexy is that?), so it's funny, see? Get it? *elbow elbow nudge*
I used acrylic paint mixed with textile/fabric medium (it was an adventure getting THAT), and it hasn't washed out so far. Probably because it hasn't been washed yet. (Oh, I'm hilarious.)
Any tips for the screenprinting n00b?
