Fair stuff. (And questions!)
Apr. 6th, 2006 11:04 amI've been busy trying to get ready for a small craft fair this coming Sunday. I'm not gonna make it, for sure. I still have tons to do and can only get stuff done when my toddler is sleeping, which he doesn't want to seem too much of lately! Anyways, here are my recent things, makeup bags and keyrings.

The makeup bags are square-bottomed zippered pouches made with a canvas-y, twill-like exterior with a nylon lining. They have heavyweight interfacing in them as well. Each has a little pastel shell disc as a zipper pull for that added sweetness! They look a tad lumpy because I've got a huge piece of paper in each to keep help keep the wrinkles to a minimum. Do you know how hard it is to iron a small bag like that? Arrgghh!

Lined up like soldiers!

And now, the keyrings.

These I made with denim, craft felt, and embroidery thread. They have heavy-duty interfacing in them for durability too.
Okay now for the questions.
Have you ever done a craft fair?
What's it like?
Did you have good responses?
Is it absolutely necessary to have like business cards and that whole jazz?
What about bags if someone purchases something?
I can say that I'm getting anxious that my stuff "won't measure up" and all that. Or that they will be like 2 customers at the whole fair. And they'll be boys.
I'm also wondering how much I should price these items at.
I was considering like 3.50-4 bucks for the keyrings and like 10-12 bucks for the makeup bags.
Is this too much?
I spent considerable time on the felt/embroidery and each one is made with quality ingredients.
Any suggestions/info/comments you can offer would be so very helpful to me.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Cheers!!
