I had a little Christmas box from the dollar store that I was tired of looking at, so I made it non-Christmas and gave it to my gay best friend who has a strange sense of humor (just like me!) Magazines, glue, Mod Podge, buttons, sequins, paint... box!:
The top/lid and painted inside:
And then, I made some little note cards. Scrapbook paper, construction paper, pages torn out of a book I hate (used the rest of it as an altered book), paper crimper, felt, fabric bits, buttons, cardstock, glue...:
Voila! :D
