text only: plushie stuffing

I apologize first of all for the text only post. I'm currently working on a couple plushies (I'll post pics once finished) and am wondering about what to stuff with. Usually I use good old poly-fil stuffing, but I'm down to my last bit and my local Jo-Ann's was out. I picked up some shredded foam since it says it can be used for such projects, but I've noticed it's quite messy (it's currently on my floor and stuck all over the felt). Is there any other stuffing alternative? Has anyone ever had to use something else in place of poly-fil? If worse comes to worse, I'll stick with the foam (I've really got to get these plushies done; one's for an Etsy sale and another's for my cousin's birthday who I'll see next week), but the foam's really pissing me off. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!
