Crochet Happy
Apr. 20th, 2006 04:07 pmSo I've been crocheting quite a lot in the past few weeks, so I borrowed the bf's camera so I could share...
First, the shawl...
I used this pattern, with Caron Simply Soft in black (of course).

You can see the stitch detail better in this one:

Then I decided it needed a little something else, so I got black thread with metallic silver (Feza Stardust) and sc'd around the edges...pretty!

Kitty satisfication:

Then with the Stardust, I decided to make a choker. I got the pattern from a book called Fun & Funky Crochet out of the library. The book itself is meh. The choker is okay.

Sparkly!

Essentially it's just two little rectangles, with varying length of chain stitch between them.

It was a good pattern, but it's apparently made for people with tiny necks, because even though I followed the pattern, it was still a good inch or two too short, so I had to tie it on when I went to the show last night (BTW, it's also boyfriend approved). I'll have to fix that. I also forgot the "choking" factor of chokers and spent a lot of time pulling it away from my neck. This is also why I don't wear turtlenecks. Maybe I was strangled in a former life.
Note: Stardust yarn is soft and sparkly pretty, but it ravels like MAD. I had to tie a knot in the end before I could start working with it.
Then I picked up some Sugar & Cream, and made a bag.

It's all one piece, all single crochet. The only seam is where the strap meets the one side. Just big enough for my glasses case, wallet and other few essentials:

I don't like the color, so I'm thinking about dying it. I got the "cream" shade because it was on sale, and so I could practice with it before I did something with the strawberry, which is the one I like. The cream ended up being still more yellow than I like (I really don't like yellow that much).
Le sigh.
My phone is all dressed up, too...

Made from 3 spools of dollar bin ribbon from Michael's.

Now I just need to add some sort of attaching thing so I don't lose it and I'll be all set.
