bead question

I am going to do a bracelet for my brothers wife and it is going to be on a beading loom.
My problem is the bracelet is 34 strings wide and I am not sure how to end it on the ends and what to use for a clasps.

I made one the other day and the ending is not as clean as I would like it to be and it is only 10 strings wide.

Also i used the beading loom string that I bought from Wal-Mart and it seems to be too smooth to hold a knot.

Any suggestions on anything would do. I want this to turn out nice you know?

Like what string should I use? How should I tie of the ends? Should I use a single clasps? Or on of those clasps things that are bars and have like 4 or 5 holes on them and they clasps together (know what I am talking about??)?
