My mom's haul... haha.
May. 12th, 2006 03:20 pmI made a few things for my Mom for Mother's Day.
First, after my sister's ceiling fan was replaced, I stole the fan blades and light covers, and posted them here asking for suggestions as to what to do with the stuff. A lot of people suggested staining the glass light covers and making candle doohickeys. I liked the idea, so I took one of these:

Got a glass staining kit from JoAnn's and a cute little black iron base thing from Savers, and made this:

It looks really nice with a candle under it. I think I got carried away with the colors, though... as per usual, with me. Haha...
Recently I did a little experiment with wire wrapping. My mom absolutely loved the results, but didn't believe me that I was the one who made the charms. So I gave her a little demonstration, and then she not only believed I'd made them, but also dropped a few completely obvious hints that she wanted a necklace and earring set with wire wrapped stones. What Mom wishes, Mom gets!:

Pardon the not-so-great photo. I suck.
And then finally, I got carried away with pretty papers and made her a card with a butterfly on it. It is blank inside so far, waiting for my sister to come up with some sort of verse for it, but I thought it was pretty:

Anybody else recently get those things in the mail about breast cancer research - they came in light pink transparent envelopes? Well I cut out the usable portions of the envelopes and saved the paper - used them on the wings, there. :)
So yay! :D
