Hey. I'm new, just joined and I have a bit of a dilema. My best friend in the whole world is having her big 18th in about a month or so and she loves Fall Out Boy like crazy, especially Pete Wentz. Well, Wentz has a clothing line called Clandestine and he made a hoodie last year that my friend adores. They no longer make that hoodie and it's extremely rare and I can't seem to find this $45 hoodie for under $200! So, I decided that maybe I could make her some sort of "knock-off", if you will, of this hoodie. Now, for the problem. I was never the seamstress and I'm terrible at zippers, but the hoodies' design is rather simple. I have two options. Start from scratch and buy all the fabric and make the screen and sew it all up myself, or buy a plain grey hoodie and alter it to look like the one she really wants.

Specific questions and a pic under the cut.

Now, like I said, I could start from scratch (which I don't want to do because I don't want to mess up and have it look bad), or I can alter a pre-made hoodie.

I'm leaning towards the second option. How would I go about getting the lining on the hood purple and the pockets purple? I plan on using a tutorial for making screens that I saw here (I'll test it on scraps first, of course!) to get that design on the pockets and back of the hood. How should I go about this with making it look as authentic as possible. And will she be able to wash it and the colors not fade or run or bleed?

Thank you all SOOOO much. This means a lot to me and it will to her, too. If I can accomplish this, I'll be sure to post pics of it when I'm done.

Thanks!
