May. 26th, 2006 11:37 pmThere's a decorative fire hydrant in my friend's garden (I don't know why, either!), and I want to paint a design onto it. It's your basic red, but the paint is chipping off in spots.
My questions:
Should I sand down the whole thing? I plan on wearing a mask while I do it. Do I need to do anything else before I start painting?
What kind of paint would work best for this outdoor project, painting on metal?
Any suggestions for sealing it after I'm done?
This is a weird request. Thanks for any tips you can give me! I'll post pics when I'm done.
Oh, and to slap a picture onto this entry, here's my brand new kitten, Alice.

(I'll be making her some cat toys next week.)
