Well. I am supposed to be cleaning my room, so instead I shall play on eLJay. First time poster, long time lurker blah blah blah. I plan to be a crafty little bugger this summer, now that classes are out and such, so hopefully I'll be able to post often with fun little doodads and hoohahs!

But here are a few things I've finished recently, hope you enjoy!
preview:

SO. Here are a few things I've painted lately!

- "Florida State Flying High Circus" mug for my dad for his birthday. His days in the circus were his glory days, and I've never seen a mug with their little logo thinger, so. He loved it, so that was lovely.

- Mother's day gift for my mommy the linguist! These are from before they were fired in the kiln, so they look super dull. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the finished product before she carted it off to work. It was basically a pastel rainbow blended together going from pink down to lavander.

Front view:

It says "Are you thirsty?" in Russian.

Back view:

All the little tags say "tea" in Russian.

Bottom view:

It says "I love you!" and then "Maegan" (my name) spelled out letter by letter in Russian. Apparently I got the phonetics of my name off a little bit, but meh. It was close enough!

- Musical coasters! I had a blast making these, and I'm still not entirely done. I just finished a Ragtime one, and still have a Little Shop of Horrors one to make. Here they are in the order I painted them (you can totes tell I got better the more I did it...) and some are touched up a bit just to get rid of the glare and make the colors more true to life. Btw, click the links to see the logos each was modeled after for comparison.

Avenue Q:

This is the one I want most to do over :\ I dont like it too much.

RENT:

The letters were done with masking tape, so its not quite as crisp as I would have liked, but meh. its fine.

Wicked:

Godspell:

Rocky Horror Picture Show:

I love love LOVE the way the lips turned out in this! I was really worried they'd end up as a big glob.

Into the Woods:

And this one is my favorite ever. At first I was going to skip this one, even though its my favorite Sondheim show, because it just looked too complicated. But I decided to give it a try and I'm very glad I did. I love it so much!!

Annnnd all together:

- Hufflepuff mug! I'm making an entire set, but started with Hufflepuff 'cause the crest looked the easiest. I just loaded my slytherin one in the kiln yesterday, so it will be out Tuesday. here's hoping it turns out well!

-And finally, to keep the same theme... my Monster Book! I started him last year for my Harry Pottery midnight release party, along with a Sorting Hat, wands, House pennants, and God knows how much food and candy. Alas, I did not finish him in time, so he has been sitting around for about the past year in pieces! I finally finished him a few weeks ago and he is the best thing ever.

His name is Alfred P. Monster and he is pleased to make your aquaintance.

He enjoys long walks on the beach, eating small mammals, and Goethe.

He dislikes oranges, photojournalism, and Pete Wentz.

One day he hopes to rule the world. Or at least a small suburb outside of Seattle.

But until that day comes he shall just take a nap.

And as a bonus...here he was missing two of his teeth :\ I had to perform emergency dental work on him. It was a sketchy few minutes, believe you me.

Well that is all my friends. I hope you enjoyed and were not too overloaded with pictures. Hopefully I'll be posting more things as I make them this summer.

In conclusion, you all are rad. Keep up the good work!
