i'm only going to live about a twenty minutes bike ride from school/work, and i'd like to continue riding my bike to save gas/get exercise/etc and so i wanted to make a raincoat. it's cute and has little duckie's on it (it's made from a shower curtain) and i have it all pinned and ready to go, but my sewing machine doesn't like it too much. it's that thicker clear almost vinyl stuff. is there a specific needle type i should be using, or will i have to resort to hand stitching and just wear thimbles on all fingers?
