are you sick of me yet
Jun. 21st, 2006 10:28 pmokay mods, i am sorry for all the craft posts today! but this group is WUNDERBAR! and is always helpful!
first of all, thanks for people that are VOTING in the poll- it IS HELPING me TONS. my brain is so scrambled right now, with trying to hopefully launch on something i really sort have been avoiding. however with encouragement from friends and co LJers i am stepping off the cliff without knowing what parachute i have! so many thanks! and cross your fingers for my hopeful spring debute.
back to why i am posting!
since i have been drafting handbag designs most of the day. i am finding that the large roll of freezer paper that you can get at the store is working wonders for drafting and cutting patterns. i wanted to pass this along, if you have never used it. i have been using parchment paper, but could never get it in the large size that i needed. i also have used paper bags, and cardboard ( which was helpful when i was doing bumper pads for a crib), however i am finding that i really really like the freezer paper. i sketch out on the non waxed side of the paper. i find that the wax side against the fabric is really helpful, since it does not "snag".
i also have tons and tons of 70ish belt buckle endings that were given to me this past january. i would like to use them in the design of the handbags, however i am having issues. they dont have the little metal piece in the center that "goes into the hole", any suggestions on what i can do? i have tried to find them in the local " hardware " stores we have here in germany and the limited craft places. no luck.
other thing, i am also in search of magnet snap closures. CHEAP! i looked at JOanns online and a few other places, but dont like the prices. anyone know a good resource?
