questions:
Jun. 28th, 2006 08:07 am1) I have this Rasterbated image I want to put up on my wall. Thing is, last year I painted my walls orange and the paint has a satin finish, so my attempt to Scotch-tape pictures to it (which I used to do constantly to cover the ugly white walls) keep failing. Any ideas on what I can use to stick paper to the wall without ruining the paint job?
2) I also have an empty glass grenadine bottle full of glitter that I no longer want. It was GOING to be one of those cool layered things like what you do with sand, but it came out kind of shitty, so I just capped it and moved it around my room. But I'm sick of it! I don't know what to do with the glitter - whatever I do will have to be a mix of purple, black, gold and silver glitters and there's a ton in there.
3) I bought some cute high heels off a teen auction site a few years ago - they were way too small but I was attracted to the pattern and thought I could coat them in red glitter and hang them from my ceiling. Parts of the shoes are a sort of leather and I don't know if it's real or fake, and other parts are suede and I don't know if that's real, either. FORGOT THE QUESTION PART - the glitter did not stick to the leather/suede (I tried brushing glue on - Elmer's, then a craft glue) and I can't figure out what else I could do with them. They seem too nice to throw out, but too small for anyone to wear. Any ideas?
4) One of the walls in my room I painted bright pink, against all advice to the contrary, and a few months after the job was sloppily done, I decided I HATE IT, so I bought a quart of yellow paint because yellow is pretty and bright and goes much better with orange than the pink that I used. I test painted a corner of the wall and my sister advises me to paint the wall white first, then yellow, but my girlfriend says either way I'm going to need 2 coats so I should just paint it yellow twice. I lean towards painting it 2 coats of yellow, but I can't decide which would be most efficient. And if anyone has any tips on how to paint without getting streaks on the ceiling and the other walls at the corners, I'd love to hear them!
Answers to any and all inquiries will be much appreciated.
