A different take on paper dolls
Jul. 5th, 2006 10:14 amMy friend's daughter is turning 4 in August, so I made her a set of paper doll clothes through the ages. I downloaded a whole bunch of historical costumes, then Photoshopped them all to be the right size, printed them, colored them in with pencils, added 3-D details (different on each outfit), and then Mod Podged them to be more sturdy. The doll is a drawn head on a wire tissue paper wrapped body, so it's flexible and she can take on the poses of the clothes. The clothes each have two paper belt-like attachements in the back to wrap around the doll so she can wear them. The doll and the clothes live in a converted card box where the clothes are hung up on hangers on a ribbon "closet pole".
