Hey everybody! Remember me? (no.) I was the one who asked about funny sayings for onesies? (nope.) There was some almost-drama about hating/not-hating text only posts? (are you done yet?) ... Shut up. *sniffle*
Anyway, I stenciled them! They came out real nice!! The mommy-to-be (who's now a mommy) loved them! I HAVE PICTURES!
A dollah a piece! I WIN!
I'm not really a huge cheap ass, I's jus' po'. All my money goes to tuition and books and hummus (HUMMUS IS YUMMUS). And pitas (I MAKE MY OWN PITA CHIPS) and tortillas 'cuz that hummus has gotta go on something. I'm not hardcore enough to eat hummus straight out the container. :(
Umm.. anyway, so when they planned a baby shower at work, they were kind of telling people "hey, either donate a ton of money towards a gift card or buy Mommy-to-be a present." Ok, I HATE gift cards. They're so impersonal! So I was all "I WILL BUY BABY THINGS EVEN THOUGH I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BABIES AND THEN I WILL SAVE MONEY AND ALSO GIVE A PERSONALIZED GIFT YAY I WIN."
Then once I saw that ALL ONESIES are disgustingly pastel (I AM ALLERGIC), I decided to make some funny ones (the mommy-to-be is kind of funky/cool, so I figured she'd want a little something other than OMFGPASTELS). Don't worry- i bought some *other* stuff as well. When I give handmade gifts, I like to include a little something else store-bought. Just in case they're one of those I HATE HANDMADE THINGS RAR RAR RAR people. I know, it *is* hard to believe poeple like that exsist :(
Ok, now that the disjointed (and boring) explanation is out the way, ON TO THE PICTURES!!!)
Oh, the dollah part! I bought some onesies at the dollah store (don't worry- i inspected them for any dollah store defects and such. they looked just fine). Then I broke out my stencil gear and got to paintin'!!
I.. err... actually forgot to take pics of the finished things, so I had to carefully open the box back up and take pics before re-wrapping. ((i'm not the birghtest bulb in the chandelier)).

The second one is maybe a little clearer? The lines were SUPER-CLEAN. I friggin' impressed MYSELF. w00t. Oh, and the biohazard symbol IS NOT COMPLETELY JACKED at the bottom- that was just from being crammed in the box. It's straight in real life, I promise!

They're different sizes- I thought everything was like, you know, "baby-sized" but apparently those things grow real fast? Anyway, I got three different sizes.
The skullie and Spit Happens are placed on the chestorial region of the onesie, and the biohazard symbol is on the butt XD
Disaster almost struck with the biohazard stencil!! The red paint came out all blotchy, and because of the placement of the stencil and crappyness of the paint I had I didn't want to do a third paint layer (i was afraid it would crack!), so I grabbed a sponge and some black paint, and I dry-sponged the black over the red. It came out SUPER RAD because of that!! I was the most proudest of that one!! I LOVE when I almost screw something up but then I craftily fix it with my mighty powers of craft-fu and then it comes out EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD ORIGINALLY IMAGINED!!! *stars*twinkles*glitter*
A story about the baby shower: I was SOOOOOOO nervous about giving her my onesies. What if she thought they were stupid?? What if everyone else thought they were dumb? What if they were offended by them? I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BABIES! Or what if the worst crafter's fear came true-- she examined the onesies and said "You made these? Oh.. umm... that's nice." And really just thought I was a cheap ass who greatly enjoys hummus but that the onesies were cheap because they were homemade I WAS REALLY FREAKING OUT YOU GUYS. Not to mention she was opening all her presents in front of our whole office (50 people).
But she LOVED them! And the whole room thought they were hilarious! And several people thought I had bought them and then were super-impressed when they found out I made them. Yaaay.
THANK YOU to everyone who made suggestions!!!!! I wanted to make another one, but after the cutting, painting, ironing, and bloodsweattears of these three onesies, I just didn't have it in me :( The fourth one was going to say "This end up" XD
Also, I did a tutorial on how to work around "islands" in stencils. I shall post it sometime soon. I mean, if you want it. I just figured since I had the camera out and I was doing it anyway, might as well take pictures, right? (THAT IS WHAT YOUR MOM SAID LAST NIGHT HAHAHAHAHA) Umm.. yeah. So if you want the tutorial just holler!
